OptimEyes has been helping improve eyesight for over 30 years as a behavioural optometrist in Sydney. Whether you’re dealing with common visual concerns or more complex conditions like visual snow syndrome, our experienced team is here to help. Our entire optometry staff works together to give you a good visit every time you come into our office. We will work around your schedule and make every effort to see you in a timely fashion. To do this, we ask that you call ahead with any questions or concerns you have before your appointment.
If you are having trouble with your eyes, whether it’s blurry vision in one eye, eye strain, or symptoms related to concussion eyes our entire staff will be there to help. We will talk you through your options and what to expect with the diagnosis. If you think of any questions after you leave, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We really want to help you feel better as soon as possible.

Carolyn
Practice Owner / Optometrist
Carolyn graduated in South Africa, completed bridging qualifications in the United Kingdom, and has been in Australia since 1990, helping patients of all ages with full scope optometry services. Carolyn started OptimEyes in 2019, completed her Fellowship in Behavioural Optometry (FACBO), completed the UNSW Behavioural Masters unit, as well as the Optometric Extension Foundation Program (USA). Carolyn has been Vice-President of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists since 2023.
Sue
Practice Manager
Sue was new to the optical industry when starting with OptimEyes in 2023. Sue’s background in accounting and office management has now been applied to a new industry where she enjoys interacting with patients and has been able to expand her optical knowledge through the Australian College of Optical Dispensing. Sue is passionate about delivering a positive customer experience for everyone.
Nicole
Optical Dispenser / Vision Therapist
Nicole grew up and qualified as an optometrist in Italy, and is fluent in English as well as Italian. Nicole joined OptimEyes in 2024 bringing her Italian flair for style and fashion and will help you select the perfect frames, prescription glasses and sunglasses. Nicole is also expanding her knowledge as a Vision Therapist and has expanded her optical knowledge through the Australian College of Optical Dispensing.
Nicky
Vision Therapist / Optical Assistant
Nicky brings 15 years of experience in Childhood Education, Early Learning and Early Intervention Practices in Australia. She is a member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) and is passionate about helping patients of all ages achieve their goals by optimising their binocular excellence using a tailored and individualised therapy plan. No two patients are the same, and she works closely with the practice’s Optometrists to ensure that targets and measurable outcomes are achieved for each patient and family, as quickly as possible. Being a mother, she is conscious of the daily demands on busy families and works with empathy and efficiency towards success. Nicky joined OptimEyes in 2025.
Jessie
Optometrist
Jessie is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist with a strong passion for children’s vision and neuro‑optometry, a field that explores how the eyes and brain work together to process visual information. Jessie can co‑manage patients with other health practitioners and, in addition to regular optometry services, she addresses dry eye disease, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, age‑related macular degeneration, acute red eyes, and can also perform foreign body removals. Her calm, thorough approach helps patients feel supported and confident throughout their care. Jessie is a member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) and joined OptimEyes in 2026, bringing warmth, expertise, and a genuine commitment to helping every patient achieve their best visual outcomes.

Optical Assistant
Carola joined OptimEyes in 2026, bringing her vibrant energy, impeccable eye for fashion, and extensive client‑service experience from the beauty and health industries. She loves helping customers find the perfect sunnies, frames, and lenses that match both their style and their needs. Carola can also warmly welcome and support customers in her native Austrian‑German, helping everyone feel comfortable the moment they walk through the door.
Matt
Senior Optical Dispenser
Matt is our senior optical dispenser and technician, bringing more than 43 years of experience to the OptimEyes team. His career has taken him across NSW and the ACT, with the past three decades spent supporting patients and practices in Manly and Chatswood. Over the years, Matt has done it all — from crafting frames and surfacing lenses to training staff and managing both labs and practices. His depth of knowledge and hands‑on expertise make him an invaluable resource for patients and our colleagues alike. Outside of optics, Matt is just as active, being involved with volunteer surf lifesaving, community action groups, and enjoys art, music, and lawn bowls. Matt’s professionalism, life experience, and extensive optical skillset enrich our team and the care we provide.
